Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Chrysogenes was once part of a larger clutch, and one of the few that survived the attack on his mother's eggs. He grew up becoming a fierce warrior, but was cast out from his home by one of his siblings. He tried to find his own place to hoard his gold, and found a suitable place upon a mountain, but his stay there was short lived. He was chased away by the city guards, and decided to find another place to stay. After a few days in the sky, Chrysogenes found his new colony of dragons and quickly grew fond of them. He is now part of the hunter dragons and the defenders of the colony.
