Blacktip Dragons are a small, shore-dwelling breed that tend to nest on sheer ocean side cliffs. They live in groups under a dominant female, who prevents her subordinates from breeding. During the mating season, a group of Blacktips can be very noisy and smelly indeed; males produce a distinctive musky odor and loud, low-pitched honking noises in an attempt to woo the alpha female.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Saltfisher, though not a large or particularly strong dragon, cannot be said to have ever been at a loss for willpower and courage. There are rumors around the Weyr of Flame that she managed to traverse the most unforgiving seas and deserts to get to the Weyr of Flame...when she was a hatchling, without her parents. Surely these are only tall tales, though. Even someone with those kind of disproportionately large teeth, even someone with that silent, confident grin, couldn't have done that.

She strikes an odd contrast to her mate, the fearful Fishgutter, and when she selected him as her mate (from among her many, many suitors) it caused some amount of stir and gossip. Still, they seem to be happy together, having three lovely hatchlings. And it can be said that Fishgutter's quality of life has gone up; if anyone intentionally scares him or tries to pull a prank on him, they'll have Saltfisher to answer to, and that's something nobody ever wants to have to do.
