Moonstone Dragons are named after the orb on their tails, which resembles the gem of the same name. They are nocturnal and gather energy through the absorption of moonlight with their orbs. They seem to glow with a lunar light and are a very gentle breed, feeding off of plants and the moons’ power.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Madame Lussau (loo-soh) may be new to the expanding herd, but she has already earned the trust of the older ones, and has been put in charge of the frozen hatchlings in the group. She sure has the right personality for this job, too. She adores children, and the children often choose her over anyone else to supervise them. Because of her gentle, loving nature, many parents of the frozen hatchlings agree to let her take them in as if they were her children. Although caring for that many hatchlings seems like a daunting task, she gets help from several of the group's more experienced females when she needs it.
