Striped Dragons come in a dazzling array of colors complemented by an intricate pattern of stripes. These bright colors and patterns help attract their favorite food, insects. Because their prey is so tiny, striped dragons must spend a large portion of their day eating. The color of the offspring is usually determined by the dragon’s mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Though this dragon loves the fire that shares her colors, she has been burned each time she's touched it and been scolded by her mother Lightbell until she finally stopped.  Not one to give up, she went to her father for stories about fire that could be touched.  None of his stories made any sense, of course, but her sister Claybell overheard and told her of a village of humans that believed a dragon who flew high enough at sunset could become one with the flames of the sky.

This dragon flew to the village to find out if there was some trick to it, getting there just as the sunset bell was ringing.  The sound lifted her spirits and she flew up to try one more time.

As the sun glinted off her wings and danced off her stripes like living flames, she heard the shouts of the villagers below that a dragon had joined the sky.  It was then she understood that this was a spiritual journey, not a physical one, and that she had been made of fire all along.
