Magi Dragons are, as their name suggests, primarily magic users. They rarely use physical forms of attack. They eat anything they can kill, which is almost everything. They won’t kill unprovoked except when hunting, although they may kill humans if in danger. Their strong magic makes them one of the most feared breeds of dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

It has been obvious since she was a hatchling that Arcanum was no ordinary magi. She has far more magical ability than most other magi dragons, possibly because of her lengthy and unusual lineage. However, her talent has caused her more sorrow than anything else. The first bit of magic she ever did accidentally killed another member of the flight, a dragon called Elysia. Out of her mind with guilt, Arcanum tried desperately to bring her back to life, with even worse results. Sometimes the now-undead dragon can still be seen shambling around the outskirts of the flight's territory at night. Though she now has earned the title of Magus as the most skilled magic user in the flight and has her power safely under control, Arcanum has never been the same ever since. Her haunted eyes and withdrawn, mournful manner unnerve the other dragons; she spends most of her time in her quiet little cave, researching ways to heal Elysia, completely ignoring the existence of everyone else.
