Striped Dragons come in a dazzling array of colors complemented by an intricate pattern of stripes. These bright colors and patterns help attract their favorite food, insects. Because their prey is so tiny, striped dragons must spend a large portion of their day eating. The color of the offspring is usually determined by the dragon’s mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Teen Idle regrets many things in her life. She hates the fact that she never mated. She hates the fact that she never fought a single battle for territory in her life. She hates the fact that when she was younger, she hadn't been, as her name, an idle young dragon, in the prime of their youth, going out and being stupid with friends.

She wants to fight again, but she thinks that she'll just die there, even if she would feel alive. She wishes that she hadn't been told the pretty, white lies, and had been told the ugly, black truth. Even if she didn't want to hear it, she believes that her life would've been better for it.

Teen Idle is worried about dying alone, worried about being too much of a narcissist, worried about how she wasted her youth drowning herself in falsity.

She wants blood and guts and sweets, all at the same time, and nothing makes sense.
