Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Like the egg it hatched from, it is a very shiny gold.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Mischievous and lively, Pilon is the most likely of any of the hatchlings in the clan to stir trouble in the nearby villages. Among the hatchlings, they simply call him Pi, after his insatiable cravings of the sweet treats the humans make. Pi has no fear of humans, and can be found striding right into a village, leaping up onto ledges and crawling through open windows, and then quickly escaping with freshly cooked foods in his tiny jaws. Given his bold nature, some humans have attempted to trap the gold hatchling, seeking his scales for their value. In such times, it's been the responsibility of Pi's ever-present shadow and eldest brother, Dulengath Golval, to free him. But in spite of the few haunting experiences, Pi continues his tiny raids on human villages in his never ending hunt for all things sweet, the delicious pies being his most treasured prize.
