Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Lines is a warrior who has chosen a balance of the two typical ways that black dragons can battle. While he is not specialized in either physical or magical fighting, his equal practice of both has given him a very versatile set of moves he can rely on. This is what gave him the initial advantage in his first fight with his now mate, Mind. She had stumbled upon his clan's territory, and he quickly drove her off, leaving a wound that would scar over. However, soon a power struggle ensued between the two, with every encounter resulting in a fight. As they were pretty equally matched, the outcome was never sure. Eventually, the two realized they had grown attracted to each other's strength, and they stopped fighting in order to begin courting, instead.
