And look! It has grown larger fins! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Module is extremely intelligent for a hatchling his age. He's managed to get on the good side of the more scholarly adults like Carnegie and Induction, and they sometimes let him do 'research' with them. This rarely lasts long, however, since the 'research' usually just involves copying out passages on scrolls, and Module's penmanship is simply terrible. Most of the time he keeps to himself, reading and sometimes stealing Whomever's chalk so he can attempt to write out proofs.
