Shimmer-scale Dragons are a very beautiful breed with small—but highly reflective—scales that shimmer and shine as the dragon moves through water. They don’t have fins or webbed feet, but their long, eel-like bodies allow them to swim quite fast. They were once rumored to carry large pearls in their claws—causing many to seek them out in search of this fabulous treasure. In reality, the “pearl” is of greater value to the dragon, for the fabled treasure is actually an egg carried by a migrating female.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Princess Akoh of the Shimmerscale Court, takes a keen interest in the night sky and in stargazing. The rest of the court thinks it is, perhaps, due to her heritage...her family lineage contains many devoted stargazers...and as such the nebula dragons of the clan consider her to be their patroness. Many are the nights where she stays up late following her passion and observing the stars...though this often results in sleeping late the mornings after. Occasionally, when some important event occurs in the heavens, thee princess appears to take on almost nocturnal habits in her efforts to see phenomena that may not occurs again for centuries or maybe longer. She flatly denies the idea, which she calls superstitious nonsense, that the future can be read from the sky...what there are, she says, are stories written in the night sky for the dragon, or the human, who is patient enough to look for them. Each constellation, to her mind, represents a tale of ancient times passed on four ages.
