And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Fierceling will never grow; that's the first thing most notice about this tiny dragon. She doesn't understand why or how, but something is preventing her from growing. And she's very happy it is. Fierceling likes being cared for and helping Nikola in the Nursery. The other dragons treat her like they would a normal adult dragon, so she really doesn't see the need to mature anyway.

Some may say living the permanent life of a hatchling has spoiled her, but in reality she actually devotes a lot of her time to caring for eggs and baby dragons, feeling she has more than earned her fair share of the food gathered by the rest of the Clan, as well as their protection.
