Royal Blue dragons are a nocturnal breed who prefer to live high in the mountains near slow-moving water that reflects the night sky. Although quite capable of defending themselves, they are peaceful by nature and will avoid a fight whenever possible.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Swirls of Moonlight along with his best friend Squiggles of Moonlight and mate Twirls of Moonlight is a great acrobat. The three like to put on shows for other dragons, asking Magi dragons to put magic glow-in-the-dark spells on them and making beautiful patterns in the sky every time a dragon's birthday comes on, every holiday, and every time a new month is started. Swirls of Moonlight is the smartest of the three, and often organizes the patterns that the three perform.
