Moonstone Dragons are named after the orb on their tails, which resembles the gem of the same name. They are nocturnal and gather energy through the absorption of moonlight with their orbs. They seem to glow with a lunar light and are a very gentle breed, feeding off of plants and the moons’ power.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Fanaeia doesn't care much about anything but herself, and considers all eggs and hatchies to be dispensable subordinates who have no purpose but to be enslaved. Together with a small group of supporters, the Moonstone kidnaps eggs from other caves and auctions them in small, sketchy towns and on the black market. Though she usually doesn't speak of this, what Fanaeia has said leads most to conclude that the market for slaves is larger than one would expect in a civilized dragon society.
