Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

A shameless coquette, Corielle believes that by flaunting her dazzling beauty and batting her eyes, she has managed to string along half the males in her cave. Unfortunately, the Gold dragoness hasn't the mental capacity to string two thoughts together, and has yet to realize that while her "victims" play along, they aren't truly beguiled and, in fact, mock her behind her back.

Strangely enough, the wise philosopher Ars Vivendi is quite taken with Corielle, and will chide any whom he catches making fun of the Gold. Perhaps he can appreciate her ability to find beauty in the simplest of things, or maybe it is her simplicity itself that enthralled him.
