not-a-yes but not-a-no
just rock-paper-
scissor-and-
oh
never known there's a toll
darkness hums a calming tone
when a turtle joins the known
let the story stray from its own
it's not like the age-old tome
a set of two in one dome
can't you tell it's a bluff
the gargoyle huffs a puff
dust is falling and so is dirt
by the fourth there's a court
scrape at it and its still rough
with a flick a coin was tossed
a thousand tales were snuffed
waiting for the break of thunder
he runs at rain's pace
dealt with the card no one takes
a dot of ink in all of eights
in sheep's fur she gives chase
raining white onto running lakes
in his mind a different race
counting on for old times sake
holding the wind in his embrace
scarlet script flourish in grace
it starts from a cocktail's base
purple and violet mix in fates
scattered across open space
it's faith written in disgrace
tracing a dream in false shapes
