Paper Dragons are not truly living creatures. They are pieces of parchment enchanted by magic, and as such, are very vulnerable to fire. However, they behave almost like dragons. The only place where their behavior differs is breeding: paper dragons cannot breed.

Kusudama was enchanted from the pages of an ancient text of origami, and was named "Paper-Flower" for the bloom-like appearance of his tail. Though he is only made of paper and therefore not a "real" dragon, Kusudama does not seem to mind. He has proven himself to be a wise and helpful creature, effortlessly teaching young hatchlings the ancient and beautiful art of paper-folding. His only fear is the red dragon Bloodstone's Fire, who has taken it into his head that all Paper Dragons are toys to be burned up... so far Kusudama has been lucky in avoiding Bloodstone's flame-breath, and prefers the company of the white dragon Bones McCoy, who heals any accidental injury sustained by Hurricane Eye's buffeting winds and rain.
