Sunset Dragons are closely related to sunrise dragons. However, their behaviors differ greatly. Sunset Dragons generally live alone or in small packs. They are more active in the evening, hunting and performing all of their daily tasks as the sun sets.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Easily the most dominant member of the Mycena clan, Gwideon is both the strongest and largest. He looks after the group and well-being of the other dragons. Though vain and arrogant, he has a truly good heart. As an orphaned egg, he was raised by Reyluna, to whom he owes his gratitude. His own parents were killed by humans, which explains his deep seated hatred for all "two leggers". He truly loves his mate, Acurra, and would risk everything for her.

New stresses have been laid upon him now, when Mordestia- the vampiric dragon- bit and turned his own grandchild. He held a council, and as a compromise declared that only the eggs laid by clan members were not to be bitten, or Mordestia would have to face permanent banishment. He does not trust Mordestia, but her skills in combat are invaluable to the clan.
