Storm Dragons are the masters of the skies. They are excellent fliers and land only to rest and eat. In addition, they have full control of the weather. They are very hot-tempered and easily angered. They will attack any human that bothers them, conjuring strong winds and dangerous lightning.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Amarmeiru is one of two joint guardians, along with her mate, Treserrik. She keeps watch over the mountains of the desert, using her power of the air to help guide those lost. She maintains the oases to make sure they remained well-stocked. However, she's still carnivorous with no qualms about eating foolish prey.

One day, several Hellfire Wyverns decided to fight inside her volcano. Their battle literally became very heated to the point of intolerable. Soon the heat and heavy thrashing caused the volcano to begin erupting. In despair, she fled outside the volcano... Only to find another Storm Dragon gathering rain clouds. Knowing she alone couldn't stop the volcano (nor could he), she offered a joint plan. She would use lightning to cause large crevasses around it while his storms would quickly cool what fell.

Seeing she had no place to go after the plan worked, the Storm Dragon Treserrik offered her to stay with him at a town not far from there. Grateful, she accepted.
