Aww... It’s a cute baby drake. It seems to like you, although it is very hyperactive and difficult to train.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young drakes are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own.

Skylar Drake is a very hyperactive young dragon.  He is zipping through the air like a madman or dashing in and out from among the adults.  The speed of his speech is amazingly quick and few are able to fully understand him.  He usually has his good friends, Melz and Raiily, interpret for him.  Despite being orphaned by his birth parents, Skylar looks to Leonzd and Da'jima as his true father and mother.  They are the only adults who fully understand his rapid speech.
