Crimson Flare Pygmies are named after their small size and speed. They are fast and love to fly up and down in steep climbs and dives, giving the impression of a flare of color in the sky. These dragons travel in swarms during migration seasons and are very social. They live in tropical locations or wherever it is warm, and they are often seen near active volcanoes.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Pygmy dragons are the smallest category of dragons, being on the same scale as domesticated animals. They are often found around concentrated populations of dragons, relying on their larger brethren to ward away potential predators and leave scraps. As such, the majority of a pygmy’s diet is scavenged. Due to their tiny size, pygmies do not breed with larger varieties of dragons.

User Description

A lover of classics, z'HIIF Shakespeare likes sonnets the best

Though she has such troubles with iambs! they drive her insane.

Trying to alternate syllables' stresses, she cannot find rest.

She'll throw in an anapaest, trochee or dactyl and then she'll complain.

.

"Iambs must tramp, but a dragon like me needs to skip!"

Some evenings she screams about others' impeccable lines

And how, with such steadiness, sonneteers' verse seems to drip

While she plays with meters that dance through more complex designs.

.

Perhaps in the language she writes in, the iambs don't fit;

Maybe the problem is, as she thinks, all in her mind

Which, like how a crimson flare flies, seems to flit

Into the steep, diving flights often made by her kind.

.

Despite all the problems that sonnets present to poor z'HIIF,

No reader who's seen her work thinks that her writing is stiff.
