Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Yzuyx lives in conifer forests where the cold dusts the region with snow almost all year. The only reason there is enough light for the plants to live is a spring of wild light mana which trickles from a spring in his cave and flows into the nearby river. Of course, that's not the only surprise that lurks in the river—Yzuyx's mate, Aslys, dwells within the water. Yzuyx often goes down to visit her, bringing gifts all year around. Of course, she doesn't care for such material things, and he loves dancing as much as she does. It is not uncommon for the two to be seen dancing in the sky under the aurora—Yzuyx has always admired how much Aslys's striped, serpentine body resembles the twining lights above.

It is rare for other dragons or human travelers to drop in to Yzuyx's land. He is incredibly friendly, primarily because he has yet to meet any particularly unpleasant dragons. Some suspect that he uses his magi magic to change the minds of those who would wish harm upon him or Aslys.
