Aria dragons are a brightly-colored and sprightly breed, perhaps most adored for their lyric calls. Their song-like melodies fill the areas they inhabit; their coos resemble those of birds, only more elegant and refined. They have fairly strong magical capabilities, but tend to reserve these strengths for last-minute defense, choosing to live their lives in simple peace. Arias, sticking to the tropics, typically live quite far from human settlements, giving rise to the previously held belief that they had gone extinct.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Nenil, Lystr's 6th, is very loving. She worries constantly about any hatchlings or eggs that Lystr has, and she, being a good mother, worries about her own 3 children with Iliru. She is fairly pacifistic, taking after Michiri, and refuses to go with Lystr in his air wars unless Iliru is involved. Lystr is almost glad because of it, for she is useless in battle unless something threatens her mate or hatchlings. Nen much prefers to lay in the grass, watching the little ones play.<br/>Nenil is mated with Iliru, and has 3 children with him, all of which were given to different Tamers. Two of the hatchlings are pinks, like her, and she hopes that they grow up to be strong and healthy breeders. Nen's often seen with her mate, calming him down after his temper's been aroused or while he's conjuring storms to "help" his children grow. According to Lystr, she was intended for Eolonu, who is Iliru's elder, but Il snuck in a mating with her and she's been faithful to him ever since.
