Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Antares is the leader of his clan in many respects, and guides it with a steady sense of duty and responsibility. Being the oldest and wisest dragon in his clan, he is looked up to by almost everyone within it. Having fought many a battle in his past, Antares truly understands the meaning of danger, and will not urge his clan into war unless it is absolutely necessary. This ends up with his leadership often being questioned by some of the younger, battle-eager dragons in the cave. However, those closer to Antares know that he makes every decision carefully,and always with their best interest in mind. He is a wise, seasoned warrior that will not back down to any threat, great or small. When not taking care of his clan duties, Antares is a sociable dragon who enjoys spending downtime with his best friends, Balthazar and Romulus. He is very mellow and calm for the most part, and it takes a lot to anger him. Antares' mate is Callista.
