This breed of dragon results from eggs or hatchlings that have been neglected. They are usually rebellious, not obeying their masters, sometimes even attacking them. However, their neglect as a hatchling leaves them crippled, and they are weak compared to other breeds, causing them to stay with their masters for protection.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Thyras wanted to develop some new techniques with her healing magic, therefore she needed a patient to work on. Thus: Yvs. Thyras would use a spell to dull pain originally meant for the terminally ill, then tell her, "Run along and get hurt now." Other times Psysaire would simply gorge herself on Yvs's blood while Thyras watched.

Then Yvs wandered into Mistshire Valley and met Niharia. Because of geographical isolation, Niharia didn't really know the stories about Thyras, so Yvs, torn and bloody, explaining her "normal" was a real eye-opener. When Thyras came to collect her errant experiment, Niharia was in a righteous rage that would put a syumorph to shame. Not even Thyras's desipis could stay the guardian's wrath. The villains fled, never to return to Mistshire.

Yvs has thrived under Niharia and Dakari's care. She has weak magi spells, likes fish, and learned mostly to avoid injury but still cannot feel pain. In bright light she seems translucent, with some bright star-like specks.
