Skywing Dragons spend most of their lives flying in the air. They hunt from the air, diving at prey from above, and land only to rest. They are some of the fastest fliers, capable of extremely high speeds. The webbing at the end of the tail acts as a rudder, allowing them to easily change direction during flight.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Tawlo, a skywing dragon, flies solely over the mountains. She enjoys the various wind currents, and the mountains offer the best food for her, such as moose or bear. Tawlo has many owl friends, and her best buddy is a tawny owl. The owl, named Raid, flies around with her until he gets too tired. They have had many adventures together, most of them being dropping buckets of slime or water on unsuspecting creatures on the ground. Raid and Tawlo also have some concerning pyromaniac tendencies, but no forest fires have resulted from their shenanigans yet. In the Datamonster attack of '09, Tawlo was one of the many dragons eaten. No one noticed she was gone from the tribe, as everyone was busy worrying over the bright pink dragon, Sevana, that was also eaten. Her disappearance was only known and acknowledged when she came crawling home severely injured. Tawlo loves to tell the story of her rescue, when the mighty TJ saved her with his awesome power of 42 and his army of vampire dragons.
