Skywing Dragons spend most of their lives flying in the air. They hunt from the air, diving at prey from above, and land only to rest. They are some of the fastest fliers, capable of extremely high speeds. The webbing at the end of the tail acts as a rudder, allowing them to easily change direction during flight.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Unlike many skywings, Crowfeather is no gentle giant, no serene serpent drifting lazily through the air overhead. Rather, she is a violent scavenger, and her smaller size and crueler nature have led some to guess she is not truly a skywing, but rather some twisted subspecies. Disdainful, she will never lift so much as a talon to aid others, but cares for one thing and one thing only: herself. She will trail shamelessly after murderers, monsters, and all the like, waiting until they've had their fun to dig up their kills and feast. Although carrion is normally all she can get her claws on, she loves the taste of fresh, warm meat, and although she is too lazy to hunt for herself, she will steal it from others if she can.
