Copper Dragons are masters of stealth, slipping silently and swiftly through the forests and jungles where they live. Often hunting in groups, their prey rarely know they are being stalked until the dragon’s at their throat. In the air they are agile and skilled. Copper Dragons prize family groups, spending large amounts of time teaching their young skills. So great is their love of life and family that they will sometimes adopt orphaned dragons of other breeds to raise.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Tarnished Cuprum, or Tarn, as she is more commonly called, is the leader of the Copper Dragons on SL's scroll. She was the first Copper Dragon to be caught, and as such was viewed with awe for her sleek, green-tinted coppery skin.

Tarn's reputation has been built by her stern attitude. She takes her job as leader very seriously, and gets quite unsettled if one were to question her abilities. The other Copper Dragons respect her enough to listen when she instructs them, but they would never admit to Tarn being their ruler.

Despite being classified as a metallic dragon, Tarn denies any admiration of her lustrous scales. She does not believe that she is worthy enough to don the name of "Metallic", and she practically worships the Gold and Silver Dragons and Wyverns. The lack of these rare breeds in the cave compelled Tarn to create an organization dedicated to finding them, which of course she leads. Dragons appreciate her attempts, but rarely do they aid her in her searches.
