Considered heralds of ill fortune, Omen Wyrms are usually found in areas previously ravaged by disaster or strife, blending in amongst the foliage. Due to the unique appearance and texture of their bodies, they often pass as dead trees as they wait for unsuspecting prey. Their haunting cry—like that of a hollow-sounding horn—is a sure signal to run: it is always followed by the dragons’ furious wrath, which manifests in the form of fiery cascades. Escape from an Omen Wyrm is possible, however; it is said they will not dare follow their quarry across running water, no matter the cause of their vexation.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Deep within a system of caves where daylight never reaches, Xintpa guards one of the few paths to the surface. She maintains signs with warnings both on the outside and the inside of her hunting chamber, clearly explaining the rituals she demands a traveler to perform in order to demonstrate they are worthy of a visit to the other region. The instructions are straightforward and extensive, so anyone literate should be able follow the simple ritual... assuming they are literate in an archaic form of hexglyph. Most travellers from the surface don't even read contemporary hexglyph, and those from the lightless underground are usually only literate in variants of braille, if at all. Still, Xintpa thinks her instructions are clear, and anyone too foolish to follow deserves to get eaten.
