Kingcrownes are a mysterious and proud species, possessing some of the most beautiful and reflective scales of all dragons. Despite this, what is sought after most is not their scales, but the silk-like hairs that grow along their head, neck, and elbows. The hairs themselves have a magical shine, and are thought to have powerful healing properties when used in potions. The hairs of a Kingcrowne are even believed to bring good fortune to those who possess them. Though it is obvious that these dragons possess magical abilities, it is still not entirely clear what they are fully capable of. Most of a Kingcrowne’s time is spent grooming itself, keeping its scales and fur in top condition.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Xaegif is a manufacturer of magically-synthesised cheese-like food product. As well as the classic yellow-orange sludge, he produces cheese-like food products in powders to be reconstituted by the end user, and most infamously, in a form where it is magically compressed into cans so that when one attempts to open the can, a stream of cheese-like food product shoots out at high speed. This last form was banned in Nworset as part of an air-quality control measure, but Xaegif still produces the product for export to places such as the Madder Jungle. His products are not as pervasive as Star Doe's Coffee, but he is working on it. He has tried several times to get Star Doe to distribute his products, but she refuses to cary something she finds inedible. Xaegif considers magically-synthesised cheese-like food product to be a worthy addition to any diet, even if no sane dietician would recommend the substance.
