Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Except for the occasional flicker of movement, it remains inanimate.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Pebbled Youth loves to talk about stones, and will do so to anyone who is wiling to listen. Be warned, once this one dragon starts talking it is very hard to get him to stop and you can bet he will show you his collection of pebbles that are just too pretty to eat. He'll go on and on about the various minerals in the stones, why they are the color they are, how interesting the shapes are and how some of them have a very surprising weight to them. Even though it can be a lot to take in, something about this young dragons enthusiasm for life often leave those he chatters to smiling.
