Coastal Waverunners spend most of their time skimming the waves along the coast, snatching up their prey from the shallow waters. They have developed markings along the leading edges of their body that help disguise them as breaking waves. When they are not hunting, they enjoy playing among sand-dunes and shallow tide-pools. These dragons live in small but noisy rookeries. Some stories say Waverunners can fly for days on end without landing.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

By this waverunner's roost, there is a complex pattern of vertical lines and exes. When he lands on the beach, he draws staves and crosses in the sand. Any paper that falls into his talons will invariably end up with these same two marks over every square centimetre of its surface, even going over other text and diagrams that might have been there before. The other waverunners call him x11x1 after these patterns, which many try to decipher, but so far, none have managed to succeed.

The truth is, x11x1 likes parallel and perpendicular lines, and spends his time practicing to make his lines straighter, his parallels more parallel, and his perpendiculars as close to perfect right angles as he can. He has noticed the cult forming around his doodles and is amused by those who take a mathematical approach, but is terrified of those looking for hidden messages. If someone claims to discover a message in his doodles, they might do crazy things, and he wants no part of that.
