Frostbite Dragons first appear at the beginning of winter, creeping in with the frosts. They have found their place in human lore as the spirits of snow, since they only reveal themselves during icy weather. In the depths of winter, they cover the world in blankets of snow and are believed to be responsible for the glittering frost that creeps over everything. Although they appear cold and distant, they are actually rather mischievous and enjoy spending time dancing through blizzards.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Blind from birth and much smaller than most adult Frostbites, Nitrogen seems like she couldn't pose any danger if she tried, but fact stands that her whole family and most of the Periodic Clan approaches her with respect and caution—as they should. She normally doesn't show much emotion outwardly, keeping to herself, resulting in her reputation of an ice queen akin to the Noble Gases. However, as a creature of habit, she doesn't take well to being forced out of her comfort zone or her peace being disturbed and is highly irritable in such cases, explosively at times. It's not a nice sight; she's stronger than she looks and won't hesitate to turn her ice powers against others when mad. If one is sensible enough not to cross her boundaries though, Nitrogen is really quite pleasant and an invaluable friend to have. With a calm, cool demeanor, yet strict when need be, she is good at stifling conflicts and generally keeping things in order and balanced within the Periodic Clan.
