Fire Gem Dragons are a colorful, flamboyant breed often found in hot climates, particularly around active volcanoes. Their broad tails store the flames they breathe, which are colored by the heavy amount of minerals in the water they drink. These dragons come in a variety of colors, and will collect shiny trinkets and stones that match their own coloration. Despite their hoarding tendencies, though, Fire Gem dragons are social and will often congregate in groups and show off their collections while fawning over the stones their friends and rivals have gathered, occasionally arranging trades.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Vyanal has sapphire-colored scales and eyes that can glow like hot flames. Vyanal loves to collect and search for stones, trinkets, or gems with her fellow clan members and trading with them. She often wears her stones on special occasions so she can enhance her beauty even more. Vyanal is attracted to clan members that are, for example, diamondwing or geode dragons. Vyanal even goes as far to give them preferential treatment. Vyanal is a talented fire dancer; she performs as an entertainer in the volcano tower of her clan. She is there to entertain the clan members who are there to visit. Vyanal is a spunky and creative dragon who often makes up stories and dances with others so they can be enchanted and lose themselves in the moment. Even though Vyanal performs for free, clan members can give her stones so she will give more attention to them. In her spare time Vyanal collaborates with the other entertainers in her clan of the volcano tower so they can innovate their performances.
