Shimmer-scale Dragons are a very beautiful breed with small—but highly reflective—scales that shimmer and shine as the dragon moves through water. They don’t have fins or webbed feet, but their long, eel-like bodies allow them to swim quite fast. They were once rumored to carry large pearls in their claws—causing many to seek them out in search of this fabulous treasure. In reality, the “pearl” is of greater value to the dragon, for the fabled treasure is actually an egg carried by a migrating female.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Dazz was one of the dragons to arrive at the clan during the great Fractional Pie Day exodus of 36 AH. On her journey she had met several wonderful humans, like Lagie, but in the end she arrived at Herk's clan and was easily convinced to stay with this ragtag band of chaotic individuals.

Dazz is one of the greatest defenders of Mint dragons in her clan. Although they are not necessarily a suppressed minority in any sense, a lot of her clan mates seem to forget that Mints face a lot of challenges that most other breeds don't. So Dazz does her best to remind her clan mates when they are being involuntarily rude and to help out her little friends whenever possible. Most Mints can't really understand why mentioning size, fighting, or eating meat should offend them but they sure won't complain about free rides on a Shimmerscale's back to whatever destination they desire.
