Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The eldest of two siblings, Ciryion hatched during a single eclipse of the golden moon Auriax. Dragons born under these circumstances are said to be as pure as the moonlight itself, and indeed Ciryion seems to live up to these words. Her calm demeanor washes over those closest to her, her kindness never fails to brighten a mood. Except when she is paired with Auriax. His competitive streak and vanity grate on her every nerve, especially when he overdoes it one purpose just to laugh at the spectacle that occurs when she looses her temper. According to legend, the Child of the Silver Moon and the Child of the Golden Moon are only whole when they are together, as the moons themselves were once one. But no matter how much she cares about him, Ciryion often feels that she is more herself without her brother.
