Originally thought to be a dud egg, Peck was clung to by one of the hatchlings as a security blanket of sorts and allowed to stay in the hatchery in order to calm the tiny dragon down. By the time it became apparent that there was something in that tiny egg after all, and that something was, in fact, not a dragon, no one in the cave had the heart to send her away. Peck now happily occupies a warm corner of the main cave and is considered something of a mascot.
