Fire Gem Dragons are a colorful, flamboyant breed often found in hot climates, particularly around active volcanoes. Their broad tails store the flames they breathe, which are colored by the heavy amount of minerals in the water they drink. These dragons come in a variety of colors, and will collect shiny trinkets and stones that match their own coloration. Despite their hoarding tendencies, though, Fire Gem dragons are social and will often congregate in groups and show off their collections while fawning over the stones their friends and rivals have gathered, occasionally arranging trades.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Tyamox is a dedicated collector of stones, trinkets, gems, and art and loves to show of his collection in the form of an art exhibition in the clan's volcano tower. Tyamox especially loves the spitfire and ultaviolet dragons in his clan due to their dedicated craftsmanship; he is friends with all of them and likes it when they gift him their designs. Tyamox in general respects dragons more who can create beautiful tangible things and always tries to stimulate this creativity in his clan. Tyamox can be shallow though as he also prefers stone looking dragons such as gold dragons or geode dragons, giving them preferential treatment. Due to Tyamox being a strong fighter and powerful fire breather he is one of the bodyguards of the gold dragons in his clan, to protect them hunters that want to kill them for their scales. Tyamox in his spare times likes to carve unique statues with his sharp scales. He often tries to implement storytelling elements in his work.
