Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.

Dragons don’t communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.

Geode dragons are closely related to Stone dragons. They are covered in a hard stone-like material as well as beautiful crystal. Their wings are entirely useless for flight, but they help attract mates. The dragons with the most brilliant and colorful crystals are more likely to mate.

Gaeva, daughter of Vexam and Vasper, is a very talented dragon. Rumored to be a seer, she is very wise, like her mother, but also has a playful side. Since she cannot fly, with her beautiful but heavy crystalline wings, she likes to spend most of her time in the nearby forest,where she gathers most of her current knowledge from observing nature. One of her owner's favorite dragons, Gaeva is often seen with he owner in the forest or with the other dragons of Cave Ember.
