Nocturne Dragons are a strange breed. Whenever light strikes their bodies, they are frozen in whatever position they were in. This leaves them vulnerable and they rely on camouflage to keep themselves safe. They are often mistaken for statues when in this frozen state, but Nocturne dragons do not actually turn into stone. Rather, they merely idle until the sun goes down. At night, these dragons come to life, proving themselves to be powerful fliers, although little else is known about their true behavior.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

It's a good thing that Desdemona is a patient dragon. She has been given a very, very important errand by her clan's human caretaker, and she doesn't know how long it will take. Des was given a message for the human known as Dimar and she intends to deliver it. Every morning before she falls into her stationary state, and every evening before she flies off on her search again, she repeats it to herself, so she won't forget it: "Dimar, wherever you are right now and whatever you do, don't forget that you are an awesome and loveable person. I hope to see you soon, Beloved."

Des is very proud of the fact that she was deemed worthy with such an important task and she won't disappoint her human. In the meantime all she has to do is to avoid socks and rubies, because she was told, those would make her forget her mission.
