Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Occult is a very dark and frightening dragon.  Knowing this, the clan was surprised when he fell in love with Sunleigh, the cheerful and bright Summer Dragon.  Though he doesn't wish to spend time with many of the other dragons, Occult was attracted to Sunleigh because she was so different from him.  He was intrigued by her never-ending optimism and bright outlook, even during the fall when her type of dragon was unable to reproduce.  Occult promised her that he would wait for her, should her species ever be able to breed with the arrival of a new season.  Their wish was granted and their first daughter was born shortly after the start of December.  Seeing how pleased Sunleigh was at the arrival of their daughter, Occult knew for sure that he had made the right decision in waiting for her.
