Red Dragons are similar to typical story book dragons. They shoot flames, can fly, etc. However, they aren’t evil creatures as depicted in myths and won’t go around raiding castles, killing knights, or kidnapping princesses. They live in a variety of habitats, from forests to coastlines to abandoned castles, usually in warm climates, and eat whatever living creatures they can find.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

VVasp was named for the code given to him by the Mighty Creator of Everything at birth. His amazing codename was "vasp," but when his master tried to name him, she discovered the name "Vasp" was already taken. She improvised and used two V's, making it look a bit like "Wasp."

VVasp's name fits him, for he has a temper of a wasp; peaceful enough, but with a sting in the tail. VVasp has a slow to rise temper, but once it flares up, there is almost no way to curb it. VVasp has tried valiantly to beat his temper, but he cannot seem to stop when he gets going. The one thing that calms him is the sound of a fellow cave-mate's song. Her name is Dirty Dreams, and she is an Ochredrake. Her song is beautiful and moving, and can calm VVasp even when he is at his most angry. However, Dirty Dreams is not aware of this, nor is she aware of the burning love that VVasp feels for her. Even if she did know, drakes and dragons do not mate, so VVasp and the pretty drake could never be together.
