Seasonal Dragons take on the characteristics of the season during which they are born. Thus, eggs that are laid in spring match the pink flowers and green buds of spring, and those that are laid in the summer grow to depict the bright green of the forest trees and the yellow of the sun. Eggs laid in autumn display the bright colors of leaves falling from trees, and those that are laid during winter take on the appearance of the icy snow.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Hemimorzep Mystal FrostThaw (Clan Mystal) became the 114th dragon of the clan cave in the heart of the dark, quiet hours before dawn, born the third offspring to her parents. Her arrival marked an amazing softening to her father's cold heart, for she managed to bring forth in him a glowing smile the likes of which had never before been seen. The Clan Mother was delighted by her arrival, and the immediate impact it seemed to have on the entire clan cave. Although her scales have a frosty blue hue, unlike others of her kind, she prefers the thawing days before spring rather than the cold darkness of deep winter, no doubt a result of the timing of her birth. Her elder brother, Hemimorpez, adores her and seems to dote on her every whim.  Thankfully, she is not the sort to take advantage of such a fact, and the two enjoy endless hours of mischief and zestful sibling rivalry. She often seeks to further her understanding of the world around her and magics whenever opportunity allows.
