Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Erna is a dexterous, forceful businessdragon. She is the head of a logging company. The humans were cutting down too much of the forest, so to avoid strife she negotiated control of harvesting wood go to the dragons. She has to carefully write contracts as to not upset either side of the case as well as be sly enough to convince one side to accept the others demands when they don't want to. Erna naturally sits on the side of the dragons and will usually give the humans she short end of the deal. The humans notice, but what they cannot force the thunder of dragons to do much of anything without great loss to themselves. The pretty silver tinsel uses all of her skills to keep the peace, while quietly making small gains for the dragons.
