Paper Dragons are not truly living creatures. They are pieces of parchment enchanted by magic, and as such, are very vulnerable to fire. However, they behave almost like dragons. The only place where their behavior differs is breeding: paper dragons cannot breed.

Merci Reginea was a gift. She was named in honour of her first 'owner', and delights in this. She feels as though being named after somebody else makes her very important, in the same way that the members of English Nobility were often named after their fathers or grandfathers, and were very important people.

Despite this, she is not as high and mighty once you get to know her properly. Instead, she is lonely. Merci Reginea longs for companions made of paper so that they may understand her, but so far she has encountered none.

She watches the hatchlings in an almost bitter envy, in a mixture of longing for her days as a hatchling, and sadness that she may never have hatchlings of her own.
