Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Rescued as a hatchling, Sevoug was originally born into a clan of ruthless Black Dragon warriors. Training started young, and even hatchlings who had not yet grown their scales were tested to see who looked promising and to weed out the weak. Sevoug had passed several of the tests at a young age, and was learning more advanced magic and fighting techniques when her sister was determined too weak and left to die. Enraged, Sevoug and the severely wounded hatchling fled in the night while many of the warriors were off battling a rival clan. With Sevoug having no knowledge of treating wounds, her young sister died soon after they had fled. Lost and heartbroken, she was taken in by a huge clan of dragons and raised with the rest of the hatchlings. Now Sevoug only uses her knowledge of magic and fighting to help hunt for the clan. She loves learning new things and spends a lot of time around the Whites, hoping to learn how to heal other dragons so no one has to die under her care again.
