Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has a large, shield-like object at the end of its tail that it uses for protection.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Like Guardian of Heroes, Guardian of Souls was taken from her family by the gods. Spirited away while she was just a young hatchling, she can barely remember her family. The one memory she does hold tight to is the fact that her true name is Solara, even though the gods just refer to her as the "Guardian of Souls". The gods froze her with various enchantments so now she is destined to forever be a hatchling. Taken from a life she can barely remember, she now flies back and forth between the earth and the heavens, shepherding lost souls to their final resting places.
