Pink Dragons are primarily herbivores and only eat meat during the mating season, when mates will exchange kills. When it is not breeding season, pink dragons spend most of their time incubating eggs and caring for their clan’s young. Due to their feminine color, it was traditionally thought that pink dragons were a strictly female breed, but this is not true.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Fond is Ordinary Weyr's main hatchling-tender.  Though she's not the most interesting dragon, one couldn't ask for a better caretaker for hatchlings.  Fond loves them all, even the most troublesome, and will do anything to keep them from harm.  Her care and concern spills over to the weyr's adult residents, and their reactions to this range from amused to annoyed.  Being fussed over when under the weather is one thing, but being encouraged to eat "just one more bite of the tasty deer, there's a good dragon" can be quite humiliating, especially when said dragon helped catch the deer in the first place.
