Nebula Dragons are nocturnal creatures. With the best eyesight to be found, they are often seen staring into space. Each dragon tends to observe a particular nebula and will eventually change their colors and patterns to match it. As the nebula changes over time, the dragon changes with it. The more intricate the design of the nebula, the better chance an individual has of attracting a mate. It is said that the markings on no two Nebula Dragons will be exactly the same.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Dorau has long ago discovered that the usual methods of teaching applied at Delirium's Academy aren't really all that good to teach such short-lived creatures as humans. But he also knows that education is important, even for human children.

Over the last couple of decades Dorau has developed a little puppet show designed to entertain AND educate human children all around the area. He has several other dragons helping him out, such as Elf the Celestial who regularly takes corporeal form just to build the puppets, and the various dragons helping with the puppeteering. Sometimes they even include a small trained drake in the show who doesn't seem aware that the puppets aren't real.

The stories and characters fathomed after the clan's Bloodscales (to underline the importance of cleverness) and varied to fit each specific audience have proven a huge hit with children and adults around the area alike.
