Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

This dragon, like his best friend and mate, Trisfang, also grew up in the dragon-Faction of Abnegation, where he was once known as Tobiastail. When his mother fled to be with the wild dragons to escape the abuses of his father, his father began taking his anger out on him. This is the reason that, when he was old enough, he left Abnegation and joined the Faction Dauntless. As part of the initiation into his new faction, he was put into a 'simulation'- a curious magic administered by a combination of Magis and Daydreams- that shows one their worst fears and forces them to face them. That's how he got his new name, he found out that he only had four fears, the lowest of any Dauntless member ever.
