Two-Finned Blunas are a very social breed of dragon, living in packs of dragons called “pods.” Blunas are very curious and playful creatures and several dragons in a pod will often “play” with one other, chasing each other around, tossing seaweed back and forth, and riding ocean swells. They are occasionally seen swimming alongside whales and dolphins.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Jax is one of those extremely complicated beings. Clumsy and with a cocksure attitude, he has his extreme comic streaks, even if he doesn't mean his actions to be funny. But he is also fairly hurt, unsure of what he is doing with his own life. He has low self esteem and often feels worthless.

But the most important thing about Jax is his relationship with Nick. When he was much younger, his mother found the hatchling shivering in cold, extremely near death.

She cared for him. While his stunned parents eventually found and took him back, he has always been a big brother in Jax's heart. Nick is his hero, though the elder dragon's growth rate was stunted by his near death experience. Jax is extremely dependent on Nick and would do anything for him. It's a mutual relationship and the pair are together continuously.
